This site is dedicated to the intellectual and entertaining pursuit of the horror genre and the uncanny as a means toward a deeper understanding of culture and identity. Through an analysis of films and icons of popular culture - it is my intent to redeem the horror genre from the stigma of being misconstrued as misogynistic and generally a 'low' form of culture. Rather, I believe that the nature of horror and the uncanny (in evoking powerful emotions of fear, disgust, excitement, and desire) can reveal more about the human condition than any other genre.
